SANDBOARD WORLD CUP, AN EVENT TO DEVELOP SANDBOARDING AND THE SANDSNOW TENDENCY, 2017

The first Sandboard World Cup was held in Huacachina Oasis from June 4 th to the 10 th Full of all of the sandboard community riders and some riders from Europe, Asia and Africa representing snowboard. Countries like Austria, Switzerland, New Zealand, France, Italy, Germany, Cape Verde, Spain, Morocco, Mexico, Chile, Brazil and Peru were part of this challenge.

The event had the objective to develop sand sports and get snowboard riders involve with this development. For 7 days, riders from around the world were sharing sessions, culture and progressing the sport and developing the Sandsnow tendency, which is a challenge for both

worlds. Surprisingly the event had just two champion. One is the most renowned rider Sandsnow in Peru, Victor Dito Chavez from Ica, he won the modalities Boarder cross (SBX) and Giant Parallel Slalom (GPS), the other rider is the also renowned Brazilian Rider from Fortaleza, Esdras Tikinho, he took over the tittles on the modalities of Big Jump (BJ) and Slopestyle (SLP) these rider have an extensive carrier riding on sand dunes and have been in the snow as well. For

sure, they deserve these titles. This event sets a new era on the development of Sandboarding and Sandskiing as well.

Because of this event Peru is been shown as a destination for winter sports enthusiastic around the world something that we are excited about.

The Sandboard World Cup was organized by the Swiss organization Intersands and had the support of different companies, the region government, the Swiss embassy. And was covered

by the TV of France.
